Programs

Until the pandemic ends we will have meetings on zoom only unless notified otherwise in the newsletter or by email.

CAMGA meetings are usually on the third Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Elmore County Extension Auditorium but check the latest newsletter to be sure.  The centerpiece of a typical monthly CAMGA meeting is a one-hour program on some subject related to horticulture.  CAMGA programs are set several months in advance by the CAMGA Vice President.  Below is our latest schedule:

2021 CAMGA Programs*

March 16-Join us by zoom with Dr. Charles Mitchell, Extension Specialist Professor, Topic: Garden Tillage.

April 20-Join us in person for a guided tour of the progress being made at The Montgomery Botanical Gardens, led by Landscape Designer, Fairlie Reinhardt.

May 18- Come learn “What Gardeners Can Do To Help Our Native Bees” with Alabama Master Bee keeper, Kristi Irions – live at the Lanark Pavilion, tours of the Apiary with Kristen will be available for those interested, after the business meeting.

June 15-Road trip to one of our favorite places, Petals from the Past! Join us as Jason Powell gives us a tour of all the summer flowers and plants blooming and growing at Petals! Box lunches will be available for $15. To reserve your lunch call or text Leslie Bingham 601-594-4434.

August 17-Join is to hear our own CAMGA Advanced Master Gardener, Deborah Kelso, as she shares her “herb wisdom“ with us – location pending.

September 21-Pending

October 19-Join us in person at the Lanark Pavilion with CAMGA Advanced Master Gardener Maria Pacheco as we learn “ALL ABOUT FERNS.”

November 16-Join us by zoom with Janice Hall, Regional Extension Agent with Food Safety and Quality as we learn how to jazz up our Holiday Cooking With Herbs and Spices.

December- Christmas party -Pending
